Two gas cylinders exploded on a fishing boat
(Baonghean.vn) - Authorities discovered that on the fishing boat there were 2 gas tanks that had exploded, with no gas left. 2 of the 6 victims had to be transferred to Hanoi for further treatment.

(Baonghean.vn) - Most of the victims suffered from first to third degree thermal burns to the head, face, hands and feet. Two of them suffered broken forearms and traumatic brain injuries.

Regarding the health status of the victims, 2 out of 6 victims of the gas tank explosion on the fishing boat have been transferred to Hanoi for treatment.
Victim Vo Van Luong (born in 1967) suffered severe burns, covering 40% of his body in the head, face, legs and arms, and was transferred to the National Burn Institute. At noon on March 11, another victim, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuat (born in 1947), was also transferred to a hospital in Hanoi.
Three other victims are being treated at Nghe An General Hospital, namely Nguyen Xuan Truong (born in 1976, ship owner), Vo Sy Tuong (born in 1953, Truong’s father-in-law) and Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1957). Only victim Tran Van Chien (born in 1966), the least injured person, has been discharged from the hospital.

"The victims of the explosion are all brothers and relatives and are in very difficult circumstances. The locality is mobilizing neighbors to support and help the fishermen with treatment," said Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Vice Chairman of Nghi Hai Ward People's Committee, Cua Lo town.
Before that, at around 2:00 p.m. on March 9, a 450-horsepower boat owned by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong set out to sea to fish close to shore. Due to rough seas, the group of fishermen were not able to catch seafood. At dawn on March 10, the fishermen packed up their fishing gear and returned to shore.
At around 5am the same day, when the ship was about 3 nautical miles from the mainland, the cooking gas tank on board suddenly exploded. The explosion injured 6 fishermen on board, 5 of whom were seriously injured and had to be hospitalized.
