700 fake websites discovered defrauding customers

According to the Department of Information Security, through monitoring and tracking the situation, these scam campaigns create a series of fake websites impersonating social networks, banks, major service providers, and prize winning programs to collect personal information, social network accounts, bank accounts, credit cards, etc. of users.

Attackers take advantage of the end of the year, the time near Lunar New Year when there are many promotional programs, discounts, and gifts to thank customers; at the same time, the psychology and habit of rushing to shop at the end of the year makes many users lose their vigilance.
The Department of Information Security said that it has discovered at least 700 domain names used to serve the above-mentioned phishing attack campaigns. Therefore, to ensure information security and prevent the risk of phishing attacks, the Department of Information Security makes recommendations.
Specifically, for users, be wary of messages with information about promotions, winning prizes, and receiving prizes. Do not click on any strange links received from messages on Facebook, including from friends and relatives' accounts and similar channels such as Zalo, Viber.
Be wary of strange web addresses that suggest receiving prizes and awards. If necessary, contact the brand owner for verification; update your Facebook account password, use strong passwords that have never been used before, and enable the 2-step verification feature provided by Facebook.
