(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 29, the Vinh City Police Environmental Police Team inspected and discovered a facility producing 350 rice cakes that tested positive for borax.

Environmental police discovered that Mr. Hieu's facility violated the use of food additives and food processing aids outside the permitted list.

The results of a random rapid test showed that 2 out of more than 350 cakes produced by Mr. Hieu tested positive for borax.

In addition, the authorities also discovered in the baking area a bag of clear white powder chemical weighing 10 kg, without a label, and the owner of the facility said it was borax.

At the time of inspection, Hieu Nghe rice cake production facility could not present any documents related to business activities.

The Vinh City Police Environmental Police Team has drawn up a record and seized all the exhibits for destruction. This violation will be punished according to Clause 4, Article 6, Decree 178 with a fine of 30 to 40 million VND and suspension of operations for 2 months./.
