80kg whale found washed ashore in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - The whale carcass, nearly 2 meters long and weighing about 80 kg, was salvaged ashore by a fishing boat of a fisherman in Nghi Hai ward (Cua Lo town) for burial according to the rituals of a fishing village.

The whale is nearly 2 meters long and weighs 80 kg.

Around early afternoon on April 8, on the way out to sea to catch seafood, the family boat of Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoa (Tan Nho Block, Nghi Hai Ward, Cua Lo Town) discovered a whale carcass drifting near Cua Hoi sea channel.

The whale is nearly 2 meters long and weighs about 80 kg.

Local authorities and people survey the burial site of the fish.

At 5pm, the fish was brought back to shore by fishermen to prepare for the burial ceremony. According to the customs and beliefs of the fishermen, any boat owner who finds a whale will have to mourn for 2 years. The ceremonies will be held solemnly and the whale will be buried at 7pm.
