(Baonghean.vn) - During a surprise inspection of Lien Hoa poultry slaughterhouse in Kim Lien hamlet, Quan Hanh town (Nghi Loc), Nghi Loc district police discovered that the facility was using pine resin to clean duck feathers.

At around 8:00 a.m. on December 27, a working group of Nghi Loc District Police coordinated with Quan Hanh Town Police to inspect Lien Hoa poultry slaughterhouse in Kim Lien Hamlet, Quan Hanh Town. The authorities discovered that the owner of the facility had dipped ducks in boiled turpentine water to clean the duck feathers.
At the scene, the police seized a cast iron pot used to boil water mixed with chemicals to blanch duck feathers, 7 plucked ducks, and 8kg of solid lumps of rosin and lime. Mr. Nguyen Van Lien, the owner of the establishment, confessed that the rosin was bought at the bus station area (Vinh City) to clean the feathers.

After checking, Nghi Loc District Police made a record, required the family to immediately stop this form of business, confiscated the ducks to destroy and handle administrative violations according to regulations.
It is known that rosin contains up to 70% colofan, mainly used in the processing industry, making soap, making clear glue and the electronic microchip manufacturing industry or fuel. After entering the body, rosin will not be excreted but will accumulate, causing many dangerous diseases for food users.
