(Baonghean.vn) - During a surprise inspection of Lien Hoa poultry slaughterhouse in Kim Lien hamlet, Quan Hanh town (Nghi Loc), Nghi Loc district police discovered that the facility was using pine resin to clean duck feathers.

At around 8am on December 27, the Nghi Loc District Police working group coordinated with the Quan Hanh Town Police to inspect the Lien Hoa poultry slaughterhouse in Kim Lien Hamlet, Quan Hanh Town. The authorities discovered that the owner of the facility had dipped ducks in boiled pine resin to clean the duck feathers.
At the scene, the police seized a cast iron pot used to boil water mixed with chemicals to blanch duck feathers, 7 plucked ducks, and 8kg of solid lumps of rosin and lime. Mr. Nguyen Van Lien, the owner of the facility, confessed that the rosin was bought at the bus station (Vinh City) to clean feathers.

After checking, Nghi Loc District Police made a record, required the family to immediately stop this form of business, confiscated the ducks to destroy and handle administrative violations according to regulations.
It is known that rosin contains up to 70% colofan, mainly used in the processing industry, making soap, making clear glue and the electronic circuit or fuel manufacturing industry. After entering the body, rosin will not be excreted but will accumulate, causing many dangerous diseases for food users.
