Two enormous Reishi mushrooms weighing 3.6 kg have been discovered.
Two giant reishi mushrooms, each weighing 3.6 kg and measuring 40 cm in diameter, growing on the trunk of an ancient banyan tree, were recently discovered by locals in Tan Phong commune, Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province.
These two mushrooms were picked by Mr. Tran Van Tho (24C Ba Lieu Street, Zone 5, Hai Tan Ward, Hai Duong City) on July 20th from an ancient banyan tree in Tan Phong commune (Ninh Giang District, Hai Duong Province).
According to Mr. Tho, about a week earlier, he had accidentally spotted two mushrooms on the trunk of this banyan tree while visiting a client's house.
On July 20th, Mr. Tho and his father-in-law drove to the banyan tree to pick mushrooms.
On the banyan tree trunk, there was another reishi mushroom that someone had either picked or dropped earlier.
These two mushrooms are growing on the trunk of a banyan tree, about 5 meters above the ground. The ancient mushroom stems have become woody and horn-like.
The surface has deep grooves running in concentric circles.

According to many residents in Tan Phong commune, the banyan tree with the two Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms, although only about three people could hug it in diameter, is several hundred years old.
Therefore, these two reishi mushrooms are also several decades to several hundred years old.
