On February 17, the working group discovered and caught red-handed Ho A Cau, born in 1986, residing in Huoi Po village, Na Co Sa commune, planting and tending opium poppies in a field deep in the mountains. The total area was 377m2This opium poppy plantation consists of more than 3,200 flowering plants, interspersed with vegetable fields in the forest of Huoi Po village, Na Co Sa commune, Nam Po district. After discovering the opium poppy plantation, the authorities coordinated with local authorities to destroy all of the opium poppy plants.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Nam Po District Police has detained Ho A Cau for investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
Meanwhile, in Cao Bang, local authorities have just discovered and destroyed a large area of illegally grown opium.
Carrying out a peak period of attacking, suppressing crime, ensuring security and order during the Lunar New Year 2022, through the implementation of professional measures and information provided by the people, on the morning of February 18, 2022, Tri Phuong Commune Police, Trung Khanh District, coordinated with the Commune Military Command and the Border Guard working group to discover, destroy and seize 115 opium plants in Lung Co Thi area, Na Gioc hamlet, Tri Phuong commune.
The opium poppies were grown in an area deep in the forest, with rugged terrain and few people passing by, so authorities have not yet identified the grower. The case is still under investigation.
