Discovered more than 2 tons of pig udders 'magically' transformed into grilled goat udders

On the evening of September 17, District 12 Police (HCMC) were still taking statements and completing the case file to handle the case of more than 2 tons of pig udders and suckling pigs discovered at a villa located in alley 272 National Highway 1, Group 52, KP.3, An Phu Dong Ward, District 12 on the same morning.

At about 9:30 a.m. the same day, an interdisciplinary inspection team including the Veterinary Station, Police, Market Management Team of District 12, and People's Committee of An Phu Dong Ward inspected the above villa and discovered that workers were processing a large amount of pig udders (photo), with 9 freezers containing more than 2 tons of pig udders and suckling pigs.

More than 2 tons of pig udders are stored in a Saigon villa waiting to be 'magically transformed' into grilled goat udders.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung (59 years old, from Thai Binh - the owner) admitted to purchasing these goods in the provinces and markets in Ho Chi Minh City to process and resell. All of the above goods did not have quarantine certificates, were of unknown origin, were denatured, discolored, and had a foul odor. The District 12 veterinary station took 15 samples for testing and temporarily detained the above goods for processing.

A veterinary officer said that these pig udders originated from China and were imported by Ms. Dung from the northern provinces to Ho Chi Minh City and then distributed to other sources to make grilled goat udders.

Mrs. Dung’s villa is 3,000 square meters wide, and its gate is always closed. Every day, trucks carry boxes of styrofoam pig breasts disguised in burlap sacks and leave them here. Afterwards, the pig breasts are bought by restaurant and drinking establishment owners in Ho Chi Minh City and wholesalers from other provinces.

In previous years, Ms. Dung (also known as Ha and Thuy) was arrested and administratively fined by authorities for trading in this product.
