Police discovered and seized more than 6,400 packages of smuggled foreign drugs including the brands SCOTT, JET and HERO next to an abandoned house.

Through information from the public, Ben Tre Provincial Police have just discovered and temporarily seized more than 6,400 packages of smuggled foreign drugs including the brands SCOTT, JET and HERO next to an abandoned house in Phu Chien Hamlet, Phu Hung Commune, Ben Tre City.

Through inspection, the police determined that the abandoned house belonged to Mr. Phan Huu Cong, but he had moved to live in another house nearby. Mr. Cong rented this house to Ms. Au Nhut Thuy, 45 years old, permanent resident of Ward 8, Ben Tre City. However, since 2017, Ms. Thuy has not lived there.

At the scene, the B40 mesh fence behind the abandoned house was torn, and there were many plastic bags containing smuggled foreign cigarettes. The authorities determined that these cigarettes were taken from Mr. Cong’s abandoned house to be hidden. The police are continuing to investigate and clarify the case.
