The Environmental Crime Prevention Police force coordinated with authorities to inspect the number of dead shrimp injected with impurities. |
According to Department 5 of Department C49, on the night of May 26, forces suddenly inspected a processing facility located in the resettlement area X2 Yen So, Hoang Mai district, and discovered many boxes of frozen shrimp being taken away for consumption by the facility owner. From the outside, the shrimps showed signs of curved tails, dilated segments, and swollen bellies, showing signs of being injected with impurities.
The authorities did a quick test and after putting the foreign substance in the shrimp into the reagent, the reagent changed color. The quick test results showed that this foreign substance was agar powder, an impurity that increases weight, making the soft, rotten, dead shrimp become firmer and more beautiful.

According to Department C49, the authorities are currently waiting for the results of the examination to see if the shrimp injected with impurities is contaminated with bacteria that cause digestive diseases for consumers or not to handle those involved in the incident. The C49 force will also expand the investigation into the incident to see where the shrimp was purchased from and where it was consumed.
