Many types of substandard drugs were discovered.

Recently, the Thanh Hoa Department of Health discovered many types of drugs that did not meet quality standards and issued a notice requesting drug businesses and users in the province to urgently recall these drugs and return them to the suppliers.

The Thanh Hoa Department of Health discovered that Olecin-500 film-coated tablets (Levofloxacin 500mg), registration number: VN-11490-10, production batch: TE-5339, expiry date: 5/11/2018 and production batch: TE-5401, expiry date: 6/11/2018, manufactured by Gracure Pharmaceutical Ltd (India) and imported by Central Pharmaceutical Company No. 3, failed to meet quality standards regarding qualitative indicators of optical rotation and average tablet weight.

Olecin-500 film-coated tablets are one of two drugs ordered to be recalled in Thanh Hoa province.

In addition, Denizen enteric-coated tablets (Serratiopeptidase 10mg), registration number: VD-10027-10, production batch: 0560215, manufacturing date: July 30, 2015, expiry date: July 30, 2018, manufactured by Minh Hai Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, were found to be substandard in terms of quantitative analysis.

The Thanh Hoa Department of Health has suspended the circulation and issued a recall notice for batches of Olecin-500 film-coated tablets and Denizen enteric-coated tablets (Serratiopeptidase 10mg).

At the same time, businesses and users of medicines in Thanh Hoa province are requested to urgently recall any batches of the aforementioned suspended medicines (if any) and return them to the suppliers.

To ensure the implementation by relevant units, the Thanh Hoa Department of Health has also requested the Drug Management Division, functional departments and divisions of the Department of Health, and the Health Departments of districts, towns, and cities in the province to be responsible for inspecting and supervising the implementation of this notice; and handling units and individuals who violate it according to current regulations.
