Dinosaur eggs were discovered earlier this month during road construction in Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, China. According to Du Yanli, director of the city's Dinosaur Museum, the 19 fossils, measuring 13 cm across, are completely intact.

According to SCMP today, experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences will continue to examine the remains to determine which dinosaur species they belong to. Heyuan was previously known as the "homeland of dinosaurs".

Experts have collected approximately 17,000 dinosaur egg fossils in the area since they were first discovered on a riverbank in 1996. Du believes that many more fossils may be found in the sandstone surrounding the city, and construction projects would have to be halted if they are discovered.

In 2004, police arrested a farmer in Ha Nguyen after determining that he had hidden 557 dinosaur egg fossils in his house.
