At around 12:15 p.m. on April 30, while the aviation security force of Can Tho International Airport was screening and checking, they discovered in the luggage of passenger Do Van H. (residing in Nam Can district, Ca Mau, working at Thai Tuan Trading and Service Company Limited) traveling on Vietjet Air flight VJ462 (code VNA651) a flashlight integrated in the form of an electric whip (a type of support tool).
When discovered, passenger H. could not present a license to use support tools, so the aviation security force coordinated with the Can Tho Airport Port Authority to make a record of the incident. At the same time, a record was made and handed over to Tra An Ward Police for handling according to their authority.
Through the incident, the representative of Can Tho Airport Authority recommends that passengers should not carry sharp objects, flashlights with electric batons or other electrical discharge objects that threaten aviation safety on flights.
“Recently, aviation security forces have continuously discovered many passengers unintentionally carrying items that endanger flight safety. The above-mentioned items are widely sold online, so we advise passengers to be careful to avoid unfortunate incidents for flights as well as flight schedules,” said a representative of Can Tho airport port authority.
