Intelligence sources say documents discovered at an IS base in Mosul prohibit discussion of the death of IS leader al-Baghdadi in a move aimed at preventing rebellion among members of the group.
The document, distributed to senior IS leaders, also stressed that "ISIL (IS) will survive even if al-Baghdadi dies", while asking members of the terrorist group to be patient and take orders from their commanders.
A local Iraqi source in Salahuddin province, north of Baghdad, reported on July 6 that the IS terrorist group had arrested several of its members in the eastern areas of the province for leaking information about al-Baghdadi's death.
IS has arrested more than 20 of its members in the Eastern Makhoul villages of Salahuddin for leaking information about al-Baghdadi’s death, the source said. The terrorist group has accused them of inciting an internal uprising.
According to sources, IS militants are confused by the ban on talking about al-Baghdadi's death, especially after the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group arrested members who leaked the news.
A local source also said that earlier this month, IS burned alive Abu Qatibeh - a senior IS leader - for allegedly revealing information about Al-Baghdadi's death during his sermon at a prayer meeting in the town of Tal Afar.
Sources said that just a few hours after arresting Abu Qatibeh on charges of internal rebellion, the IS terrorist group executed him in front of dozens of people in central Tal Afar.
"Abu Qatibeh, a close friend of al-Baghdadi, had implicitly supported earlier revelations about the IS leader's death and mourned him during Friday prayers - which raised many questions. IS initially kept the matter under wraps, but later arrested and executed him on charges of rebellion," the source added./.
