Ancient tree trunk discovered on Mars?

UFO hunters claim to have found fossilised remains of a tree trunk on Mars, proving the red planet was once covered in greenery.

A photo taken by the Curiosity rover released by NASA in March revealed a vertical object about a meter high, resembling an ancient tree trunk. The image was shared on YouTube by Paranormal Crucible.Enginenewsreport

"This object looks very strange and in my opinion it could be the petrified remains of a tree trunk on Mars," Paranormal Crucible said. "The object is about a meter tall, it would be reasonable to assume that there were many types of trees that existed or still exist on this planet."

However, according to NASA, all the discoveries of strange objects through the Mars probe's photos are just the result of pareidolia. This phenomenon makes people tend to imagine familiar images from unrelated objects.
