Body found with backpack full of rocks floating in river
The decomposed body of a man and a backpack filled with rocks were discovered in the river.
Initial information, at around 2:30 p.m. on September 22, Inland Waterway Port Authority staff discovered a man's body floating on the Saigon River, so they towed it to shore (section across Saigon Bridge, Binh An Ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City) and then reported it to the police.

Upon receiving the news, District 2 authorities arrived to retrieve the victim’s body. At the scene, the victim was about 30 years old, wearing a black shirt, shorts, and a backpack.

On the victim, the police discovered 2 mobile phones and some money. Notably, the backpack contained hard rocks. The victim had no identification papers on him.
At 5:00 p.m. the same day, the victim's body was transferred to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
