First case of Zika infection detected in Laos
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced yesterday (March 6) that it had detected the first case of Zika virus infection in Laos, bringing the list of countries with Zika infections to 41.

The Lao Ministry of Health has yet to comment on the World Health Organization's report on Zika cases in the country.
To date, only a few countries in Asia have detected Zika infections. The Lao Ministry of Health has yet to comment on the World Health Organization's report. Thailand and the Philippines have also recently announced that they have detected cases of Zika infection in their countries.
