Whale carcass weighing 500kg found washed ashore.

At approximately 5:00 AM on May 7th, on the beach of Quang Hung commune (Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa province), local residents discovered the carcass of a 500kg whale washed ashore. Fishermen reported the discovery to the local authorities so that appropriate burial arrangements could be made according to local customs.

After locals discovered the whale carcass, they reported it to the local authorities, and the Fisheries Resource Protection Sub-Department came to the scene.

According to Mr. Le Minh Luong, Deputy Head of the Fisheries Resource Protection Sub-Department, the whale in question measured 3.6 meters in length, had a large diameter of 50 centimeters, weighed approximately 500 kilograms, and its carcass was still intact.

The initial cause of death for the whale has been determined to be stranding. Authorities have now agreed to hand over the whale's carcass to the local community so that fishermen can choose a location for burial according to local customs.
