Promoting the effectiveness of electronic libraries in Nghe An

In 2022, although the first months of the year encountered many difficulties due to the Covid-19 epidemic,Provincial Libraryorganized many activities, achieved encouraging results.

Notably, 2,000 new reader cards were issued (100% of the target), 570,000 books and newspapers were circulated (114% of the target). Mobile services were provided at 14 school locations in 14 districts and cities, with 25 books circulated at 21 locations. The provincial library is currently building 12 libraries and bookcases at 9 localities.

In addition, successfully coordinated the organization of the "Reading Culture Ambassador" contest of Nghe An province in 2022, the Propaganda and Book Introduction contest of Nghe An province in 2022.

However, grassroots movement activities in the library system still face many difficulties. Facilities, headquarters, and equipment for grassroots libraries are generally poor, with limited resources, books, and newspapers that are not attractive to readers. Librarians are still holding many concurrent jobs, failing to meet new requirements and tasks in the era of information technology development.

In addition, most of the libraries and bookcases do not have a regular source of funding to supplement new books and newspapers. Funding for supplementing books mainly depends on contributions from the people, so it is not regular and continuous, so the operational efficiency of these libraries is still low...

Speaking at the Conference, the leader of the Department of Culture and Sports suggested that in 2023, the Provincial Library and libraries of districts, cities and towns need to strengthen propaganda and introduce the unit's document resources; continue to innovate to attract readers; promote the effectiveness of the Electronic Library; promote joint venture and association activities in library activities; strive to complete the following targets: 80% of documents are digitized; 100% of library staff are trained to update modern library management and operation skills; 100% of district libraries use the Electronic Library software deployed by the Provincial Library...
