This place marks the event 92 years ago, on September 12, 1930,Tens of thousands of farmers raised hammer and sickle flags and banners to participate in a massive demonstration., demanding “tax exemption”, “tax deferral”, “salary increase”, to regain a better life for themselves. The protest was drowned in blood, but its spirit still resonates forever, urging generations of Hung Nguyen farmers to persevere and follow the Party to carry out revolutions to gain independence, freedom and peace for the country.
In the process of building and developing their homeland, Hung Nguyen farmers continue to overcome the difficult conditions of reality to develop production and business with the will and aspiration to enrich their families, their homeland and their country through promoting the application of science and technology in agricultural production. Many high-tech agricultural models have been invested in with greenhouses and net houses for growing clean vegetables, fruits and raising pigs and chickens in the direction of VietGAP, ensuring food safety and hygiene; many new plants and breeds have been boldly put into production by farmers in conjunction with the application of new production processes. Typically, Mr. Le Quoc Tan's household (Hung Nghia commune) raises 130 sows and 300-500 pigs/batch automatically and treats waste with biogas and probiotics, with a revenue of billions of VND/year. Or Mr. Nguyen Van Ky's household (Hung Yen Nam commune) raises Dabaco chickens in a biosafety manner, with a scale of about 2,000-3,000 chickens/batch. Or Mr. Ta Quang Phuong's household (Hung Linh commune) raises commercial goats using high technology (goats that listen to music) with a scale ranging from 250-350 goats in a barn... In Hung Yen Bac commune, Mr. Nguyen Van Ly has succeeded in raising bamboo rats for meat and breeding, bringing a stable source of income for his family.

In the district, some models of raising black chickens have been developed in Hung Tan, Chau Nhan, raising giant freshwater prawns in rice fields in Hung Phuc commune; raising giant freshwater prawns in earthen ponds in the town; raising frogs, eels, soft-shell turtles, black apple snails in earthen ponds or cement tanks in the town, Chau Nhan commune, Hung Tan, Hung Yen Nam; raising fish in cages on Lam river in Hung Thanh commune; growing hydroponic vegetables in Hung Phuc commune...
Every year, the whole district has about 9,000 farming households registering to participate in the competition for excellent production and business at all levels; of which over 50% of households achieve the title of excellent production and business at the central, provincial, district and grassroots levels.
Along with the highlight models, according to Ms. Ba Thi Dung - Deputy Head of the District Agriculture Department, local mass agricultural production is actively transformed by farmers towards producing what the market needs, not producing what they have through changing the seed structure and applying farming methods to ensure both improving product quality and improving economic efficiency. For example, in wet rice cultivation, in each crop of about 3,500 hectares, 75% are structured with high-quality pure rice varieties, of which about 300 - 500 hectares are produced in large fields with economic value increased by 15-20% compared to mass production; at the same time, applying improved farming methods SRI, ICM to minimize pesticides, reduce input costs associated with building the quality and brand of Hung Nguyen commodity rice. In livestock farming, in addition to pigs and chickens following the biosafety direction, Hung Nguyen farmers have introduced Sind, Zebu, and 3B cattle breeds with high economic value into livestock farming, accounting for 77% of the total herd. Farmers have also boldly converted mixed gardens to grow valuable crops such as seedless lemons, Xa Doai oranges, green-skinned grapefruit, guava, Thai jackfruit, etc.; converted some areas of traditional corn, potato, and peanut cultivation to commercial vegetable production with the area increasing every year.

Along with the will and aspiration to change and improve the quality of life of their families, farmers and people of Hung Nguyen also clearly demonstrate their responsibility to join hands to build their homeland. The clearest proof is that they have become an important subject, a core force innew rural constructionwith many specific and practical actions. Such as donating land, property and contributing money to complete infrastructure: schools, clinics, cultural houses, roads, lighting; building model farmers' gardens, new rural standard gardens; participating in beautifying and preserving the "green - clean - beautiful" rural environment through models of self-management of environmental sanitation, self-management of security and order, models of flag roads, flower roads, green tree roads; organizing the movement "Farmers' tree rows thank Uncle Ho" ...
By the end of 2021, the district had 16/17 communes meeting new rural standards; 1 commune meeting advanced new rural standards. It is expected that by the end of 2022, the last commune will reach the new rural finish line and 2 more communes will meet advanced new rural standards; at the same time, striving to achieve new rural district status by 2023.
Another proof affirming the spirit of sacrifice for the common development of Hung Nguyen people is the giving up of land and houses that have been attached to their lives to implement investment and development projects, typically the VSIP project; traffic works such as Vinh bypass, North-South expressway, National Highway 46B, National Highway 46C...; contributing to building the face of Hung Nguyen with a modern and increasingly developed appearance.

Along with that, it is necessary to focus on administrative reform, implementing grassroots democracy while maintaining discipline, pushing back stagnation and negativity. Taking care of personnel work, in addition to training and fostering, regularly review to arrange and reassign staff in places where there is not high internal unity or slow movement; promote the exemplary role of leaders at all levels, sectors, agencies, units...
Looking back at history, looking back at the path of development since the day the protest of tens of thousands of Hung Nguyen farmers broke out in 1930, the Party Committee and People of Hung Nguyen have more will and determination.build a rich and beautiful homeland, the immediate focus is to complete the construction of a new rural district by 2023 and successfully implement the Resolution of the 29th District Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025.
