Countless examples of fighting and sacrificing for the independence and freedom of the nation were reflected in the press, illuminating the Vietnamese revolutionary heroism. Soldier journalists who fell on the battlefield while holding a pen are forever the pride of journalists.

If in previous revolutionary periods, the press played the role of educating ideals, enlightening the class, and encouraging the people's patriotism, then in the period of renovation, the press has promoted its role in many fields: bringing the Party's voice to the people, praising new positive factors, fighting against corruption, protecting the people's right to mastery... In particular, in the period of renovation, the press has promoted its role of social criticism to support what is right, criticize what is wrong, and pave the way for new factors to develop. The vivid reality of the renovation period shows that: In the process of socio-economic development of the country, when complex issues with many different perspectives arise, the press has promoted its role of criticism to orient public opinion. On the ideological front, when anti-revolutionary forces launch distorted arguments to slander the Party and defame the regime, the press is a sharp weapon to smash all reactionary propaganda plots of the enemy.
The role of the press in the cause of innovation is enormous, not only as a very sharp propaganda tool but also as an effective leadership tool of the Party. All guidelines, policies, and laws of the Party and the State, through vivid propaganda forms in the press, have reached the people in the fastest and most effective way. The advanced models in labor production, economic development, and building a new life have been promptly praised in the press and have been widely replicated, creating a spreading effect in society. In the fight against corruption, the press is a vanguard force, courageously bringing many corruption cases to the public for handling by law enforcement agencies.
Not only has the press performed its propaganda tasks excellently, it has also participated in social activities very effectively. In all localities across the country, whenever natural disasters, floods or work accidents occur, thanks to the voice of the press, it has mobilized great support from the community, helping people in distressed areas. Large campaigns to support the poor, Agent Orange victims, poor disabled children, etc. cannot be without the active and effective participation of press agencies. The cause of innovation led by our Party has made the press change deeply, and the press has become a powerful tool of the Party, the State and the people in the cause of innovation.
Nghe An is one of the first cradles of revolutionary journalism, where the first newspapers of the Party were born in the Nghe - Tinh Soviet Movement in 1930 - 1931. In previous revolutionary periods, Nghe An press has promoted its fighting spirit, fulfilling its historical mission on the Party's political and ideological struggle front. During the renovation period, the team of Nghe An Newspaper staff has persistently accompanied the Party Committee and the people of the province in the cause of building and developing the homeland to soon become a rich and powerful province of the country as Uncle Ho always wished.
To further promote the role of the press in the cause of innovation, press agencies and journalists must uphold social responsibility, practice professional ethics, constantly innovate, and improve journalistic capacity to meet the requirements of the press in the period of integration and development.
