Promoting the role of the press in the cause of innovation of the homeland and country

On the morning of June 20, the Provincial People's Committee, Nghe An Journalists Association and Department of Information and Communications jointly organized the Ceremony to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, award the Nghe An Press Award 2017 and launch the response to participate in the National Press Award on Party building - Golden Hammer and Sickle Award 2018.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Ho Phuc Hop - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Secretary of the Provincial Agencies Party Committee. Also attending were comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, unions, leaders of districts, cities, leaders of press agencies and a large number of journalists in Nghe An province.

The opening speech of the Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, Tran Duy Ngoan, emphasized: Nghe An is one of the localities considered the cradle of Vietnam's revolutionary press. Along with the press activities of the whole country, Nghe An press has had a relatively comprehensive development in terms of quantity, quality, rich and effective information content, beautiful, vivid and attractive forms, advanced technology, scale, number of publications, increased broadcasting time, and wide-ranging impact.

Nghe An press has really had a positive impact on the cause of socio-economic development, national defense and security and Party building work in the province, encouraging, motivating and motivating people of all walks of life to promote the patriotic emulation movement.

Nghe An press agencies and the team of journalists in Uncle Ho's homeland are increasingly developing in a professional and modern direction, along with a strong network of collaborators, capable of ensuring local press activities.

The Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association affirmed that, promoting the tradition of previous generations of journalists, Nghe An press agencies continue to proactively innovate to constantly develop to be worthy of a province with a revolutionary tradition and a press center of the North Central region.

According to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nghe An is still a locality facing many difficulties, requiring the province to focus on implementing many synchronous solutions to promote internal resources, attract external resources, and strongly arouse the spirit of solidarity and unity of all classes of people in the province to promote development. Therefore, the provincial leaders hope that the central press agencies stationed in the area will continue to pay attention to and support the movement of the province.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son suggested that press agencies should continue to thoroughly grasp the Party and State's guidelines and policies in press activities. Step up propaganda and promote patriotic emulation movements. Actively set examples of good people and good deeds; play a good role as a bridge between the Party, the government and the people, create unity in thought and action in the political and social system; solidarity and consensus among the people; and promote the image of Nghe An to domestic and international friends.

At the same time, we must do a good job of information and propaganda, foreign affairs, maintain the sacred and inviolable sovereignty of the Fatherland, and maintain a peaceful and stable environment for development.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son emphasized that in the spirit of construction and high responsibility, the press needs to continue to effectively fight against bureaucracy, corruption, waste, and negativity; prevent degradation in political ideology, ethics and lifestyle; fight against peaceful evolution plots of hostile forces, associated with enhancing political responsibility before the Party, State and people.

The provincial press needs to constantly innovate, improve professionalism and modernity, increase attractiveness and persuasiveness, and meet the increasingly high demands of press activities in the cause of national renewal.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Son launched the national press award on Party building - Golden Hammer and Sickle Award 2018 in the whole province.

At the ceremony, 25 press works were recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as winning the Nghe An Press Award 2017 out of nearly 100 works participating in the contest; including 1 First Prize for the work "Fatherland at the forefront of the waves and winds" by author Thien Thao (Nghe An Police Newspaper).

The Provincial People's Committee awarded 5 Second Prizes to the works: "Rotation of cadres in the spirit of Resolution 11-NQ/TW" by authors Khanh Ly - Mai Hoa (Nghe An Newspaper); "Strengthening border party members at the grassroots level: A view from reality" by authors Hoai Thu - Khanh Ly (Nghe An Newspaper); "General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong with the people of Vinh city" by author Duc Anh (Nghe An Newspaper); "Waste of district-level vocational training facilities" by the group of authors Van Anh - Duy Thanh - Kim Lien (Nghe An Radio and Television Station); "Consequences of a policy" by author Bui Tho (Nghe An Radio and Television Station).

In addition, there are 10 Third prizes and 9 Consolation prizes awarded to authors and groups of authors.
