Woman fined 1 million VND for sweeping trash into sewer

(Baonghean.vn) - For the act of sweeping trash down the drainage in Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city, a woman was fined 1 million VND by the ward People's Committee.

On December 8, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Manh - Chairman of Vinh Tan Ward People's Committee, Vinh City, said that the Ward People's Committee has issued a decision to administratively fine Ms. Bui Thi Ha (temporarily residing in Vinh Tan Ward) 1 million VND for the act of sweeping garbage into the drainage.

Previously, on the morning of December 7, a resident of Tan Phat apartment building, Vinh Tan ward, filmed a woman wearing a helmet sweeping trash on an urban street right next to the apartment building.

After sweeping and piling up the trash into a large pile, this woman dumped all the trash into the sewer on the side of the road. The incident occurred on an urban road connecting Le Mao Street extended to Vinh Tan Ward People's Committee.

According to people living nearby, they have witnessed this woman sweeping trash down the drain many times.

After this video clip was posted on Facebook, many people criticized the lack of awareness of the garbage collector and asked the authorities to quickly verify and handle the littering behavior of this woman. The results of the authorities' verification showed that Ms. Ha was the one who swept the garbage into the sewer.

Working with the authorities, Ms. Ha confessed that when she passed by the road near the apartment building, she saw a lot of trash so she stopped to sweep it and conveniently threw it into the sewer. Ms. Ha's actions were spontaneous, no one hired her.

"The incident caused bad public opinion and violated regulations on environmental hygiene, so Vinh Tan ward drew up a record to fine Ms. Ha 1 million VND for administrative violations," said Mr. Manh.

It is known that in the past, Ms. Ha used to be a janitor for the block but is no longer doing so./.
