Successful surgery to remove 2kg tumor that had been haunting a man for 12 years
(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. TTH (Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh) has had a large neurofibroma (weighing 2kg, measuring 15x15cm) on the back of his right thigh for 12 years; causing his health to decline and making it difficult to walk.
On March 15, information from Vinh International Hospital, Nghe An, hospital doctors have just performed surgery to remove a large tumor from the body of Mr. TTH (61 years old) in Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province). Mr. H.'s health has improved and he can be discharged in the next few days.
Previously, on March 13, Mr. H visited Vinh International Hospital in a state of fatigue and anxiety; his gait was deformed due to a mixed tumor measuring 15x15cm, weighing 2kg, which had been attached to his right thigh for 12 years. The tumor showed signs of bleeding and necrosis.
Mr. H. said that 12 years ago, a small tumor appeared on the back of his right thigh. Over time, the tumor grew larger and larger, causing Mr. H. to have difficulty walking and doing daily activities, but because he did not feel any pain, he did not seek medical examination or treatment.
In the past 3 months, the tumor has grown larger and ulcerated widely, causing bleeding and pain. After examination and paraclinical tests, the doctors diagnosed it as a neurofibroma and decided to remove it. Surgery to remove the large tumor will free the patient from the pain caused by the ulcer, eliminating the risk of leg necrosis and many dangerous complications.

Mr. H happily shared, “Although I still have slight pain at the surgical site every time I move, I now feel much more comfortable and at ease after being freed from the “burden” of the past 12 years.”
BSCKI Nguyen Van Tuan directly performed surgery on patient H and said:“Neurofibromas can easily develop into cancer, so everyone needs to make a habit of regularly checking their health. Do not be subjective to unusual signs on the skin and go to a reputable medical facility when in doubt, to proactively protect your health”./.
