According to the Sun (UK), Eden Hazard, on June 5, was in London to undergo ankle surgery. The Chelsea midfielder is currently training with the Belgian national team and will miss the friendly match against the Czech Republic and the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Estonia on June 9.

However, Chelsea are equally worried. The 26-year-old star has been an important factor in Chelsea's first season under coach Antonio Conte. Hazard will have an even bigger role in the plan next season as Chelsea return to the Champions League.

For ankle injuries that require surgery, it can take three months or more for players to recover, and Hazard could miss the start of the season, whether he plays for Chelsea or any other team.

There were reports that Hazard was injured in a collision with a teammate on the training ground, but the Belgian Football Association denied this. Their statement said Hazard twisted his ankle and that no one had touched him.

Hazard scored 16 goals and assisted five times, helping Chelsea win the Premier League last season. Recent information has said that Real is interested in buying Hazard this summer.
