Young pilot sets record for flying around the world

(Baonghean.vn) - Young man Lachlan Smart has just landed on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, ending a 44,000 km flight and entering his name in the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest person to fly around the world in a private plane.

Lachlan Smart started his journey at the same Sunshine Coast Airport on July 4 and began his round-the-world flight in a private jet. He finished his journey after stopping at 24 locations in 15 different countries. Smart completed his record at the age of 18 years, 7 months and 21 days.

Smart's flight broke the previous record for flying around the world in a private plane held by American teenager Mattt Guthmiller, who completed the flight at the age of 19 years, 7 months and 15 days.

Smart has received support from family, friends, local officials and many people around the world he has met along the way.
