Minimum mobile network activation fee: 25,000 VND

According to the draft Circular regulating the price of mobile telecommunications services and the price of specialized telecommunications goods for terrestrial mobile telecommunications, recently released by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the minimum expected mobile subscriber activation fee is 25,000 VND per activation.

Specifically, this document states: Service users (subscribers) must pay a connection fee when entering into a contract with a mobile telecommunications company in order to connect a mobile phone number to the mobile telecommunications network.

Specifically, the activation fee for one mobile phone number must not be less than 25,000 VND per activation. The activation fee is collected once and is the same regardless of whether it is a prepaid or postpaid plan.

Regarding subscription fees, the draft stipulates that the fee shall not be lower than 30,000 VND/month per subscriber.

As for the subscriber identification device (SIM card), the proposed price is no less than 15,000 VND per SIM card.

Cancel your mobile number after 3 months if there is no incoming or outgoing traffic.

The draft emphasizes that mobile phone subscriptions can only be activated at public telecommunications service points with staff provided by telecommunications companies and at subscriber information registration points authorized by mobile service providers under contract.

If, after three months from the date the user enters into a mobile service contract with the mobile operator, the activated phone number has no subscription fee and no incoming or outgoing traffic, the contract will terminate.
