Although SLNA offered Phi Son a new contract worth around 2 billion VND/year, the midfielder from Ha Tinh temporarily put his future on hold to focus on playing in the V.League and winning the 2017 National Cup.
And now, having completed the task, Phi Son and the SLNA club leaders sat down together. As a result, Phi Son did not renew his contract with the Nghe An team and received a contract termination notice after December 31.
Late yesterday (December 7), head coach Nguyen Duc Thang confirmed that Phi Son had refused to renew his contract and was looking for another destination. It is known that Phi Son's wish is to seek a challenge in a new environment, although the signing bonus that Song Lam Nghe An offered was almost equal to that of other clubs to have Phi Son's signature.
Saying goodbye to SLNA, Phi Son shared: “I have devoted everything I could to SLNA and although I did not want to, I had to leave. I have fulfilled my late father’s wish of winning a championship title with SLNA. I had hoped to stay at SLNA but there was no other way.
I will miss this place where I grew up, where I became a person, where I fulfilled my dreams and ambitions. I am so moved to say these words, I shed tears because of these emotions because of everyone's love!"
During his career at SLNA, midfielder Tran Phi Son won many titles with his hometown team. He was able to win the National U21 Championship in 2012 and 2014. He was the best young player of Vietnamese football in 2012, and the best player of the Thanh Nien Newspaper International U21 Tournament in 2012.
