The US side revealed the time of Trump and Kim Jong-un's second meeting
(Baonghean) - On October 22, Chosun Ilbo (South Korea) quoted a close diplomatic source from the US saying that the US government wants to hold a summit between President Donald Trump and Leader Kim Jong-un on January 10, 2019, but the specific location of the meeting has not been determined.

The Trump administration's decision to set a date for the second summit with North Korea is a new step in the somewhat warming relationship between the two countries.
This creates expectations of a turning point in efforts to make North Korea credibly implement its commitment to abandon its nuclear weapons. Currently, there are 3 or 4 locations under consideration for the second US-North Korea meeting.
The summit will be held despite negative assessments from US officials, who say North Korea has failed to follow through on commitments to take steps toward complete denuclearization.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo defended the White House boss's decision to seek another meeting, despite slow progress in implementing the commitment.
Previously, on October 7, during his visit to Pyongyang, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo successfully agreed with Mr. Kim Jong-un to establish a group of experts to discuss and propose solutions to the issue of complete denuclearization, as well as discuss the stages of organizing the second US-North Korea summit.
Meanwhile, on the North Korean side, leader Kim Jong-un expressed satisfaction with the "constructive and excellent" exchange with Mr. Pompeo, appreciating the positive developments on the Korean peninsula, explaining in detail the plan to completely disarm nuclear weapons, as well as issues of mutual concern.
At the first US-North Korea summit in June in Singapore, the two sides agreed to work towards the goal of complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. However, so far, this effort has not achieved many significant steps and is showing signs of falling into a deadlock.
