Behind the world famous beautiful spy exchange

In 2010, Russia and the United States carried out the largest spy exchange since the Cold War. Anna Chapman, a beautiful and famous Russian spy, and nine others were released by the United States in exchange for the freedom of four Western spies.
Among them is Sergei Skripal, who used to work for the Russian military but defected and turned to work for MI6. A few days ago, Sergei was poisoned in the British capital and is in critical condition. The Daily Mail believes that Sergei was poisoned by other Russian spies.

The prisoner swap took place at Vienna airport, Austria, when two passenger planes parked side by side and 14 spies from both sides walked to the opposite side. Ten Russian spies arrested in the US were released after admitting to “conducting illegal counterintelligence plots abroad”.
These Russian spies were working as counterintelligence agents with fake passports and identities. Anna Chapman was also on the American plane. She had worked for several years in London at the country's largest companies, gathering intelligence.

Russian double agent Sergei was also granted asylum in the UK in the spy swap. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison for spying for the UK in 2006 but was released in 2010 as part of the swap. Sergei had received $100,000 to provide information to the UK's MI6 intelligence service.
The Vienna exchange took place in July 2010, just a month after US President Obama was informed of the incident. The two planes parked side by side for an hour. Three other Russian spies were returned to the West: Alexander Zaporozhsky, a nuclear scientist working for the CIA. Gennady Vasilenko was arrested for illegal arms trafficking and Igor Sutyagin, a foreign intelligence collector.
