(Baonghean.vn) - Once sold to China by her cousin, Tinh escaped and returned home. But then, Tinh himself fell into the same path as her cousin.

Nghe An Provincial People's Court held a mobile trial in Binh Chuan Commune, Con Cuong District (Nghe An) on a case of human trafficking to China on June 20.

The subject directly committing the fraud and human trafficking is Luong Thi Nam (born in 1983), residing in Quang Yen village, Tam Dinh commune, Tuong Duong district (Nghe An).

Around the end of 2012, Luong Thi Nam returned to Vietnam from China to visit her family. Knowing that many men in China wanted to marry Vietnamese women, Luong Thi Nam came up with the idea of finding women in difficult circumstances to sell to Chinese men as wives for profit.

Knowing that her cousin Luong Thi Tinh (born in 1981) was in difficult circumstances, unemployed, and had to raise a small child, she tricked Tinh into going to China to work for a daily wage of 150,000 VND.

Following Luong Thi Nam’s instructions, around the beginning of 2013, Luong Thi Tinh took her son, who was just over 1 year old, by bus to Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province to meet a strange man who took Tinh and her mother by boat to China. Nam then called a woman named Hong (who specializes in the service of taking people to China) to pick up Luong Thi Tinh and her mother to take them to China, Nam paid Hong 2,000 NDT.

When meeting her cousin, Luong Thi Nam and her father-in-law sold Luong Thi Tinh to a man in Hebei Province, China. After Luong Thi Tinh lived with the Chinese man for a while, she was beaten frequently, so Luong Thi Tinh escaped and was taken home by Luong Thi Nam. Nam continued to work with her father-in-law to sell Luong Thi Tinh to another man for 35,000 NDT (equivalent to 105,000,000 VND). Nam sent 30,000,000 VND to Tinh's family and after deducting expenses, Luong Thi Nam gave the remaining 60,000,000 VND to her father-in-law to keep.

After more than 6 years in a foreign country, Luong Thi Tinh and her son escaped back to Vietnam. In December 2022, Luong Thi Tinh reported to the police about Luong Thi Nam's human trafficking. With such a crime, according to the Penal Code, Luong Thi Nam was sentenced to 5 years in prison for "Human trafficking".

It is worth mentioning that when Luong Thi Tinh reported her cousin to the authorities, in 2020 Tinh had committed human trafficking and is currently serving a prison sentence for human trafficking fraud to China.
