The Electoral College on December 14 (US time) hasbegin voting for president and vice president.
Each state's electors meet at a designated location, usually the state capitol building. Each elector casts two ballots: one for president and one for vice president. Some states begin the process at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on December 14, and it will continue until 7 p.m., when the final electors in Hawaii cast their votes. The electoral votes will be streamed live on the states' websites.
After December 14, the results of the Electoral College votes will be sent to both houses of Congress. On January 6, 2021, the two houses will hold a joint meeting, chaired by Vice President Mike Pence - President of the Senate - to consider the results of the Electoral College votes.
Biden is expected to deliver a speech after the electoral college finishes voting. Biden’s aides hope the results will force Republicans to accept President Donald Trump’s defeat and shift their focus to the fight against Covid-19./.
