(Baonghean.vn) - In the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 10 that is at risk of making landfall in Nghe An, on the afternoon of September 14, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee directly inspected preparations for storm prevention and control in Nghia Dan district. Accompanying him were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Nghe An Irrigation Department and leaders of Nghia Dan District People's Committee.

The delegation inspected Song Sao Lake in Nghia Lam Commune - one of the key dam projects in the area, with a design capacity of about 52 million m3To proactively respond to storm No. 10, the locality has notified the people and released part of the lake's water in advance. Currently, the flood prevention capacity has reached more than 600,000 m3.3water.

Next, the working group also inspected and grasped the situation of preparations for storm prevention and control at Lam Son Secondary School - one of the schools with the weakest and most lacking facilities in the district, where 559 students from Nghia Lam and Nghia Son communes are studying.

A representative of the school's Board of Directors said that from the afternoon of September 14, all students in the school were off school. Teachers focused on securing classrooms and carefully checking facilities to proactively limit losses when the storm hit.
