Popularizing the rules of origin of goods in the EVFTA Agreement

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 20, the Department of Industry and Trade organized a training course to disseminate rules of origin of goods and procedures for certifying origin of goods in the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EVFTA).

Attending the training were representatives of the Import-Export Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade, Nghe An Customs Department, VCCI Branch in Nghe An, business associations and nearly 100 import-export enterprises in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

Previously, on June 15, 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Circular 11/2020/TT-BCT regulating the rules of origin inEVFTA Agreementand effective from August 1, 2020.

Compared to the free trade agreements that Vietnam is participating in, the rules of origin in EVFTA have many new and more complicated points in terms of both the way the criteria are expressed and the accompanying regulations.

Also at the training session, businesses were guided through specific practical situations in implementation.Rules of origin.
