Russian Deputy Speaker of the Duma exposes British plot in Skripal case
(Baonghean.vn) - On March 20, Mr. Pyotr Tolstoy, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma (the Russian lower house of parliament) said that the UK's accusation that Russia used nerve agent to attack former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia was "within London's reach" with the aim of preventing the lifting of sanctions against Russia.

On his personal Telegram channel, Mr. Tolstoy stated: “What is happening in Europe today, the unbridled actions with rude and completely unacceptable language aimed at Russia, have broken all the limits of conceivable decency.”
“However, British politicians who have made statements that are not consistent with their high-ranking positions will sooner or later have to admit they were wrong, just as (former US Secretary of State) Colin Powell, who presented a small test tube to the UN Security Council 15 years ago and claimed that it was samples of chemical weapons recovered in Iraq, eventually had to admit he was wrong. And I believe that British Prime Minister Theresa May will have to apologize to Russia,” the official stressed.
Mr. Tolstoy believes that the cause of the situation is clear and obvious. He stated: “Even if there had not been an attack on Skripal, they would have plotted something else.”
