Vice President of Vietnam Farmers' Association: Need to create conditions for fishermen to feel secure at sea

(Baonghean.vn) - On June 10, comrade Nguyen Hong Ly - Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and a working delegation visited and worked with the Provincial Farmers' Union and shared difficulties with Nghe An fishermen.

Receiving the delegation were comrade Le Van Cam - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; comrade Nguyen Huu Nhi - Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Provincial Party Committee Member, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Union.

On behalf of the Farmers' Association of Nghe An province, comrade Nguyen Huu Nhi reported to the delegation on the outstanding activities of the Association and the farmers' movement in the first 6 months of 2016. Notable among them were the propaganda work to mobilize farmers to implement the Party Congress Resolution; propaganda for the election of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term. Mobilizing farmer members to organize production, business and consumption of safe food;

Talking with officials of the Farmers' Association of Nghe An province and meeting fishermen of Nghi Tan and Nghi Thuy wards (Cua Lo town), comrade Nguyen Hong Ly - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association shared: Although Nghe An is not affected by environmental pollution causing fish deaths like the provinces from Ha Tinh to Thua Thien Hue, it is also severely affected.

Visiting, giving gifts and encouraging fishermen in Nghi Tan and Nghi Thuy wards (Cua Lo town).

He encouraged and hoped that the Association at all levels would coordinate with relevant agencies to propagate and encourage consumers to feel secure in using seafood caught in safe sea areas and create conditions for fishermen to feel secure going out to sea.

Also during the working trip, comrade Nguyen Hong Ly and the delegation visited and offered flowers and incense at Kim Lien relic site and Truong Bon historical relic site; directly visited, presented gifts and encouraged fishermen in Nghi Tan and Nghi Thuy wards, Cua Lo town to stay at sea and restore production and business.

In the localities, he presented 20 gifts with a total value of 10 million VND to fishing households.
