Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh attends the cremation ceremony of the King of Thailand
On October 26, a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh attended the cremation ceremony of the late Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej held in the capital of the Kingdom of Thailand.
The cremation ceremony of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej officially began at 5:00 p.m. on October 26, presided over by King Maha Vajiralongkorn.

All members of the Royal Family, Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha and members of the Cabinet, President of the National Legislative Assembly Pornpetch Wichitcholchai and many key leaders of Thailand's legislative and judicial bodies were present at the ceremony.
There were 42 countries sending representatives to attend the cremation ceremony, of which 26 were high-ranking leaders including the President of Laos, the President of Singapore, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, the Governor-General of Australia... representing the royal families of 16 countries around the world.
Thai people from all over also flocked to the cremation ceremony with the number reaching more than 250,000 people.
Attending the cremation ceremony, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and leaders of other countries laid wreaths to express their respect and condolences before the coffin of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and witnessed royal and religious rituals performed during the ceremony.
Speaking with the representative of Thailand, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh expressed her deep condolences to the Royal Family, Government and people of Thailand; hoping that the Royal Family, Government and people of Thailand will soon overcome the pain and continue to build the Kingdom to become increasingly prosperous and happy, in accordance with the wishes of the late King.
The late King Bhumibol Adulyadej was the 9th king of the Chakri dynasty, Kingdom of Thailand, so his temple name is Rama IX.
He was born on December 5, 1927, ascended the throne in June 1946 and died on October 13, 2016, at the age of 89.
With the King's great role and contributions to the development of the Kingdom as well as the prosperity of the people during his reign, Thailand has decided to mourn the King for 1 year before conducting the cremation ceremony on October 26 at the Phra Meru crematorium, considered the center of the universe according to Buddhism, in the Sanam Luang Royal Square area, Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand, ending the mourning period for the famous king considered a symbol of Thai national unity.

Also on this occasion, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited the Embassy and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Thailand.
At the meeting, the Vice President praised the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand for its many contributions to promoting the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership.
She highly appreciated and encouraged the overseas Vietnamese community to continue promoting the achievements in joining hands to build a united, strong, deeply integrated community and make positive contributions to the development of Thailand - their second homeland, while always preserving the language and national identity, looking back to the roots of the homeland; promoting the role as a bridge to strengthen the Vietnam-Thailand friendship./.
