MANY IMPRESSIVE ACHIEVEMENTS

Reporting to the Vice President, Colonel Ho Van Tu - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department said that Nghe An is one of 18 key areas for security and order in the country. In recent times, the security and order situation in the area has been basically stable and peaceful.

However, violations of land laws still occur. Some types of crime are still complicated, especially drug crimes and human trafficking. Some new crimes with more sophisticated and dangerous methods have appeared, such as: high-tech crimes, black credit, economic - environmental crimes.

In the face of the above situation, Nghe An Police has ensured security and order in all situations, with many new and creative ways. The Provincial Police has promptly advised the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee on many strategic and long-term documents to lead and direct the assurance of security and order; focusing on firmly protecting national security in all situations.

In particular, there are consultations to fundamentally and systematically resolve issues related to religion. Resolutely and effectively combat the activities of reactionary and opposition organizations; arrested and prosecuted 8 subjects, wanted 1 subject, and reformed 21 subjects.

Prevent the formation of organized crime and mafia. The rate of investigation and solving cases reached 84.2%, of which serious and especially serious cases reached 100%; nearly 5,200 drug cases were arrested, 1.4 tons of drugs of all kinds were seized.

State management of security and order is constantly improved, associated with promoting administrative reform, serving well the legitimate demands and aspirations of organizations and individuals. Traffic accidents decreased by 3 criteria, focusing on managing foreigners.

For four consecutive years, Nghe An Police has been ranked first in the entire force in administrative reform by the Ministry of Public Security.

In the context of the complicated Covid-19 epidemic, with the spirit of fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy, Nghe An Police force has been on the front line against the epidemic, synchronously deploying solutions to prevent the epidemic, contributing to preventing the Covid-19 epidemic in the area.

Party building and force building work has always been given attention and direction. The Provincial Police is the leading unit in streamlining the apparatus. Currently, 1,361 regular police officers have been deployed in 428/428 communes and towns. For 5 consecutive years, Nghe An Police has been awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Prime Minister.

In the coming time, Nghe An Police will concentrate forces and synchronously deploy solutions to ensure security and order in all situations. In particular, there are 3 key tasks: ensuring absolute safety during the organization of Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term. Proactively deploying forces to attack and suppress crimes, ensuring a safe and secure environment, effectively serving the task of socio-economic development in the area.

Organize a review to direct the implementation of the completion and over-fulfillment of the targets assigned by the National Assembly and the Ministry of Public Security in 2020. Focus forces and measures on Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control, especially ensuring security and order at quarantine points, and doing a good job of reviewing and grasping people and tasks with the motto of fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy.

CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN POLITICAL SECURITY AND SOCIAL ORDER AND SAFETY

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh - Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam praised the achievements and results of Nghe An Police in recent times, especially the high rate of solving cases, contributing to maintaining political stability, security and order, ensuring a stable life for the people.

The Vice President said that with a long border, the drug crime situation in Nghe An province is still very worrying; if not well maintained, it could become a drug transit point.

“Drug criminals are increasingly reckless, from small quantities they are now trafficking in kilograms, hundreds of kilograms. That shows that in the past 5 years, the amount of drugs seized by Nghe An Police is more than 1.4 tons. If this amount of drugs is released into society, it will cause huge consequences for the people and society. I really admire the very fierce fighting spirit, courage and sacrifice of Nghe An Police force”.

In particular, comrade Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh emphasized that 2020 is a very important year with many major holidays; especially the year of organizing Party congresses at all levels, towards the 13th National Congress of the Party and the 10th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, and the election of People's Councils at all levels and the National Assembly. This is also the year that Vietnam also takes on many important roles and responsibilities towards the international community.

Therefore, the police sector must identify the extremely heavy responsibility of best protecting the above tasks, achieving the set requirements and quality; at the same time contributing to the good implementation of Covid-19 epidemic prevention work to join the whole country in defeating this pandemic.

The Vice President assessed that Nghe An is a province with many difficulties, low per capita income, especially in mountainous districts; investment attraction despite efforts is still limited; therefore, the province needs to improve the investment environment to attract more investment projects.

Accordingly, Nghe An police force needs to continue to perform well the task of maintaining political stability to actively contribute to the province's socio-economic development; create jobs, increase income for workers, and contribute to sustainable poverty reduction.

The Vice President hopes that, promoting the tradition of the police force, in the coming time, Nghe An Provincial Police will achieve more outstanding achievements and will have many advanced models among its officers and soldiers.
