Vice President meets with Vietnamese community in Latvia
Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Latvia from October 19-21, on the evening of October 21 (local time), in Riga city, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh had a friendly meeting with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Kingdom of Sweden and Latvia and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Latvia.

At the meeting, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh informed the people about the main contents of the country's socio-economic situation, as well as new developments in the Vietnam-Latvia cooperation relationship in recent times.
The Vice President praised the achievements of the Embassy in promoting Vietnam-Latvia relations; asked the Embassy's staff to promote dynamism and creativity in their work, be a spiritual support for overseas Vietnamese, and actively support them to integrate well into the host country.
The Vice President affirmed that the Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation and an important resource for the country's development.
The Vice President praised the Vietnamese community in Latvia, although not large in number, for integrating well into the life of the host country, promoting the spirit of solidarity, mutual support and love; suggested that the community soon consolidate its organizational apparatus, establish a Vietnamese association in Latvia to unite Vietnamese people in Latvia, guide them to comply with the law, integrate into the life of the host country, turn towards their homeland, and contribute more effectively to the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Latvia./.
