Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long attended the Green Economy Forum and Exhibition (GEFE) 2022
(Baonghean.vn) - From November 28 to 30, Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the Green Economy Forum and Exhibition (GEFE) 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City organized by the European Chamber of Commerce (Eurocham) in Vietnam.
This is an important event to promote green technology and green solutions in Vietnam. Nghe An province participated in the exhibition with a booth promoting investment, trade and tourism of the province.

GEFE 2022 brings together leading organizations and individuals in the field of business and sustainable management. The 3-day event will feature a series of conferences, exhibitions and high-level B2B, B2G dialogues, along with the EuroCham Green Business Awards Ceremony and the annual Gala Dinner. This is a platform to enhance cooperation between the European and Vietnamese business communities, promoting the development of the Vietnamese economy in a green and sustainable direction through initiatives, sharing expertise and transferring technology. Along with that, the Green Economy Exhibition will attract more than 150 participating businesses, with a total area of over 5,000 m2.
The plenary session took place on the first day of GEFE 2022 with the participation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, Mr. Virginijus Sinkevicius - High Commissioner, European Commission for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, Mr. Alain Cany - Chairman of EuroCham... and delegations representing ministries and sectors in Vietnam and the European Union.
In his opening speech at the Forum, Mr. Alain Cany - Chairman of EuroCham highly appreciated the fact that many companies and manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam pay attention to environmental protection. The Government is also strongly committed to sustainable development strategies and environmental protection. The Chairman of EuroCham said that green development is an inevitable trend globally. The main goal of GEFE 2022 is to support Vietnam in meeting its COP26 commitments and completing the development goals stated in the National Strategy on Green Growth for the period 2021-2030.
Speaking at the Forum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam has approved a green development strategy and Vietnam is one of the five countries most affected by climate change, so green development and climate change prevention are very important to Vietnam. In green development, Vietnam has made commitments to countries around the world, such as Vietnam, along with 150 countries, committed to bringing net emissions to zero by 2050, and joined the global adaptation alliance with 150 countries.

At the same time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also hopes that the European Union will support advanced technology, green and cheap capital, human resource training, especially capital. He hopes that the Government and financial institutions will support businesses in terms of interest rates so that businesses can reduce investment costs, contributing to technological improvement. He will encourage innovation and creativity in emerging industries, and invest in research and development for harmonious and sustainable development.
On the basis of the EU increasing support for green growth, promoting investment, trade and tourism in Vietnam, it is believed that Vietnamese localities, including Nghe An province, will be a reliable address for EU investors. Within the framework of the Program, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long will have a working session with the European Business Association in Vietnam on the morning of November 29, 2022.
