"Focus on taking good care of rice fields and spring crops, linking production with processing to increase the value of agricultural production" is the direction of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De.
On February 6, Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected agricultural production in Do Luong and Anh Son districts. He was accompanied by leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In the 2025 Spring crop, Do Luong district planted nearly 8,500 hectares of rice. Currently, the rice has taken root, and people are focusing on pruning, fertilizing, and taking care of the crop for the first time. After inspecting the spring rice production, comrade Nguyen Van De visited the organic vegetable farm, meeting VietGAP standards in Tan Son commune. With an area of 6,000 m3 and a modern production process, this farm currently provides clean vegetables for school kitchens in the district.

As of February 2, Anh Son district has planted 3,261 hectares of rice, reaching 97% of the plan; sowing 537 hectares of corn/plan 2,032 hectares and 51 hectares of peanuts/plan 103 hectares. In general, all main spring crops comply with the crop calendar, closely following the project; some crops have not closed the area, however, the crop calendar has not ended. In the area, sugarcane is also being harvested as well as new sugarcane and cassava planting.

Working with the provincial working delegation, Anh Son district also proposed and requested support for people suffering losses due to the destruction of pigs infected with African swine fever in the period of 2021-2024; requested the Provincial People's Committee to support cement according to the new rural mechanism and other programs earlier than previous years so that the locality can conveniently arrange construction works in time during the year.

Inspecting the sugarcane growing model on alluvial land, comrade Nguyen Van De highly appreciated the application of scientific and technical advances and the introduction of advanced sugarcane varieties into production, which have helped to increase productivity and value. Currently, the whole district has 1,200 hectares of raw sugarcane, with an average yield of 75 quintals/ha, of which more than 700 hectares in the raw material area of Song Lam Sugarcane Company are planted with LK9211 sugarcane variety with a yield of 130 quintals/ha. With a capacity of 500 tons of sugarcane/day, Song Lam Sugar Factory is currently focusing on purchasing raw materials for the people.

In Anh Son district, the delegation also inspected the raw tea growing model in Tam Dinh commune and visited the green squash growing model in Cam Son commune. This winter-spring crop, Anh Son district planted over 400 hectares of squash, with a yield of 30 quintals/sao, sold at a fairly high price of 9,000 to 10,000 VND/kg.

After the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested the agricultural sector and localities and units to: Focus on taking care of rice areas and spring crops, in which irrigation units need to provide enough water for farmers to take care of rice. Closely monitor the development of harmful pests and diseases to have timely prevention measures, pay attention to continue to kill rats and golden apple snails.

“The agricultural sector and localities need to have effective solutions, replicate agricultural production models with high technology applications; link production with processing, and produce in chains to achieve stable consumption, limit the situation of good harvest but low prices as well as increase the value per production unit. Focus on planting advanced varieties to improve the productivity and quality of raw material crops” - the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed.
