Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An worked with leaders of Sembcorp Group - Singapore
On the afternoon of March 11, in Singapore, Comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee had a working session with leaders of Sembcorp Group.
Receiving and working with the delegation, on behalf of Sembcorp Group, there were: Mr. Lee Ark Boon - CEO of Sembcorp Development, Co-Chairman of VSIP Group; Emily Pham Hong Ngoc - Financial Director of Sembcorp Development; Teng Wei Hong - General Director of VSIP Nghe An Company Limited.
Also attending the meeting, on behalf of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Le Tien Tri - Head of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board; Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An expressed his joy and gratitude to Mr. Lee Ark Boon - General Director of Sembcorp Development, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of VSIP Group for taking the time to receive the delegation; at the same time, he sent his best wishes to him personally and wished Sembcorp Group and VSIP Group to develop more and more effectively.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that among the FDI projects in the province, there are currently 13 projects of investors from Singapore, with a total investment capital of nearly 1.152 billion USD.
Among them, VSIP is one of the successful FDI projects of Nghe An province and is becoming a key project with the expectation of creating a major breakthrough for the province's industrial development.
Up to now, VSIP has invested in 3 projects in Nghe An: 1 project to invest in construction and business of infrastructure for Industrial Parks, Urban Areas and Services and 2 projects to invest in construction and business of infrastructure for industrial parks.
The VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Urban and Service Park project (VSIP Nghe An 1) alone has attracted 53 secondary projects, with a total registered investment capital of VND49,985.1 billion, including 33 FDI projects with a total investment capital of USD2 billion. The occupancy rate of the industrial park is about 95%.
VSIP Nghe An 1 has attracted major investors including Luxshare ICT, Luxcase, Luxvision, Merry & Luxshare, Innovation Precision, Radiant, Everwin Precision, Matsuoka, Jtec, etc. The procedures for urban areas and services have been completed and about 45% of the land has been leveled.
Tho Loc Industrial Park Project - Phase 1 (VSIP Nghe An 2) has basically completed site clearance. Recently, Nghe An province has also signed a decision approving the investment policy of VSIP Nghe An 3 Industrial Park project.
"This demonstrates Vietnam's efforts in institutional reform, VSIP's efforts in implementing field work, as well as the support of the local government of Nghe An province. Nghe An province is very excited that VSIP's development process is becoming more and more favorable and faster," Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An emphasized.
Informing about the province's outstanding results, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An said that in recent years, Nghe An has had positive developments. The province has the 10th largest economy in the country; the growth rate in 2024 is 13th and in 2025 the Central Government assigned a growth rate of 10.5%.
Notably, in the 3 years (2022-2024), Nghe An province's FDI attraction results were consecutively in the Top 10 nationwide. In 2024 alone, Nghe An province attracted nearly 1.75 billion USD, ranking 8th nationwide, with a huge contribution from VSIP.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Singapore is a leading partner of Vietnam in general and Nghe An province in particular. For Nghe An, VSIP is one of the leading investors in industrial park infrastructure. Therefore, Nghe An province hopes to continue receiving the support of Sembcorp Group and VSIP Group for the province's development.
In the coming time, Sembcorp Group and VSIP Group together with the province will continue to study the planning and investment in building new industrial zones associated with urban and service areas. In the strategy of attracting secondary investors, balancing technology and labor use, ensuring both solving labor problems and moving towards greener, higher quality industrial zones.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An affirmed that in the coming time, Nghe An province will continue to accompany Sembcorp Group and VSIP Group to share difficulties and build an effective cooperative relationship with harmonious interests.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Lee Ark Boon - General Director of Sembcorp Development, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of VSIP Group sincerely thanked the attention, companionship and active support of the leaders of Nghe An province and departments, branches and localities for VSIP to achieve positive development results as today.
