Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De assigned 7 tasks to Pu Mat National Park
On the afternoon of January 7, Pu Mat National Park held a conference to review Party building work and perform professional tasks in 2024, and deploy tasks in 2025.

Pu Mat National Park protects over 94,000 hectares of special-use forests located in the three districts of Anh Son, Con Cuong and Tuong Duong, combining the development of eco-tourism and other types of tourism, contributing to the socio-economic development of buffer zone communes, ensuring national defense and security in the national border area.
The Pu Mat National Park Party Committee has 67 party members operating in 3 subordinate Party Cells, including the Forest Protection Department Party Cell, the General Party Cell, and the Science Party Cell. In 2024, the Party Committee led the implementation of political tasks of national defense, security, and forest protection management, strengthened the dissemination and education of environmental protection laws in many forms, and developed plans for forest fire prevention and fighting. Since the beginning of the year, there have been no forest fires in the entire core area of the park.
Pu Mat National Park staff conducted 563 patrols, destroyed 54 camps of all kinds, removed 308 animal traps, confiscated 3 homemade guns, 10 electric shockers, expelled 49 people who entered the forest illegally, removed 2 wild animals from traps and released them back into the wild; handled 10 administrative violations in the forestry sector; confiscated 10 wild animals of all kinds.


The National Park has contracted and allocated over 65,000 hectares of forest to 588 households, 108 household groups, 11 communities and 5 border posts, and supported 22 buffer zone villages with nearly 1.1 billion VND to build welfare facilities. Through forest protection contracts, it has contributed to job creation, poverty reduction, and improvement of people's lives, thereby reducing pressure on forest resources.
The unit also received and rescued 35 wild animals handed over by organizations and individuals, released 20 animals back to nature, and coordinated with the Provincial Police Economic Police Department and the Forest Protection Department to rescue and transfer 1,504 exotic animals to Vinpearl Hoi An for continued rescue and care.
The unit also built a model for growing and developing precious mushrooms and medicinal herbs and developed solutions to conserve fish fauna with high conservation value. Implemented a project on applying digital transformation to attach QR codes to investigate information on 527 forest trees of 220 species. Maintained international cooperation on cross-border biodiversity conservation with Lao PDR and non-governmental organizations on wildlife conservation.
Regarding eco-tourism and services, more than 40,000 domestic and international tourists came to visit and relax, with a total revenue of 1,369 billion VND.

The Party Committee of the unit continues to lead the implementation of Decision No. 1749 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on reorganizing the apparatus, streamlining the payroll and restructuring the staff, civil servants and public employees to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Internally transfer 16 civil servants and public employees at forest protection management stations, promote their strengths to improve work efficiency, develop scientific research programs for tourism exploitation, and direct the inspection committee to develop work programs to prevent corruption and waste.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee praised the outstanding achievements of the Pu Mat National Park Party Committee. He emphasized 7 tasks that the unit needs to focus on in the coming time, which are: Continuing to promote achievements, further strengthening forest protection patrols, strictly handling violations of the law on forest resources; Continuing to improve fire prevention and fighting plans, especially in the dry and hot season; Strengthening propaganda work for people to raise awareness of forest protection; Promoting staff training, improving digital transformation, improving professional expertise; streamlining the apparatus effectively; Promoting internal solidarity, strictly managing financial work, transparency, and compliance with the law...

At the conference, the provincial leaders awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Party Secretary, Director of Pu Mat National Park for his outstanding achievements in work from 2019-2023. The unit's Party Committee rewarded collectives and individuals who excellently completed their tasks in 2024.
