Youngest Associate Professor in Vietnam Appointed by World's Leading University

Dr. Tran Xuan Bach - the youngest Associate Professor in Vietnam - has just been appointed as an assistant professor by Johns Hopkins University (USA).

The Johns Hopkins University website has just posted information showing that Dr. Tran Xuan Bach has become an assistant professor in the Department of Health, Behavior and Society, Bloomberg School of Public Health.

According to the school's introduction, in 2011, Tran Xuan Bach graduated with a PhD from the University of Alberta (Canada). Two years later, he completed a postdoctoral training program in Health Policy and Economics at the same school.

Since 2015, Mr. Bach has been the co-chair of the Global Healthcare Innovation Network. In addition, he is an associate professor and deputy head of the Department of Health Economics at Hanoi Medical University.

"As Vice President of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, Dr. Tran is a pioneer in promoting research and evidence-based medicine in the Vietnamese health care system," the website introduces.

Johns Hopkins University also assessed that Tran Xuan Bach has extensive experience advising United Nations agencies, international organizations and governments on global health and development issues in Southeast Asia.

Much of the new adjunct professor's work focuses on cost-effectiveness evaluation of intervention programs, service evaluation and health innovation, and health system strengthening.

Tran Xuan Bach's research is also closely related to HIV/AIDS and emerging diseases in the region.

Thanks to that, he won many domestic and international research awards, including the international research award of the Hopkins AIDS Research Center and the Dang Van Ngu award.
