On September 24, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc attended and delivered a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the 21st China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning, Guangxi, China.

CAEXPO and CABIS: Important Symbols of ASEAN-China Cooperation
Expressing his honor to attend and deliver a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the 21st China-ASEAN Expo and Business and Investment Summit held in Nanning - a beautiful, green and hospitable city, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government, the Deputy Prime Minister sent his sincere thanks to the Chinese Government, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government and the Fair Organizing Committee for their warm and thoughtful reception for the Vietnamese Government and business delegation. Wishing this year's CAEXPO and CABIS a great success!

The Deputy Prime Minister said that at this Fair, Vietnam continued to be an active participant contributing to the success of the activity, with the presence of 120 enterprises in many fields and 200 booths displaying products.
As an active and responsible member of ASEAN and a comprehensive strategic cooperative partner of China, Vietnam has been and will continue to work closely with ASEAN, China and its partners to strongly promote new growth drivers and continuously make practical contributions to the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, after 20 editions, CAEXPO and CABIS have become an important symbol of the cooperative relationship between ASEAN and China; not only providing cooperation opportunities for businesses of all countries, but also contributing significantly to promoting friendly exchanges and mutual understanding between the people of ASEAN and China; at the same time affirming China's important role in the global economy as well as the confidence of the business community of all countries in a large, vibrant Chinese market full of potential and development opportunities.

In the context of the world and regional economies undergoing fundamental changes in both structure and growth model, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc highly appreciated the theme of this year's Fair and Conference focusing on promoting the construction of Version 3.0 of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) and high-quality growth.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this is the strategic choice of regional economies in the new situation, a factor contributing to promoting peace, stability, and prosperous development in the region and the world.

Four priority areas in China-ASEAN cooperation
With the spirit of promoting cooperation for mutual development, aiming at stable, sustainable and long-term growth, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized four priority areas in China - ASEAN cooperation.
Firstly, strongly promote trade cooperation for balanced and sustainable development. It is recommended that countries continue to open their markets, facilitate trade and investment flows, and implement free trade commitments at the highest level such as in RCEP and ACFTA; promptly complete the upgrade of ACFTA 3.0; expand the implementation of facilitation models, apply digital technology and automation to customs clearance of goods.
Second, promote strategic development connectivity, expand regional economic corridors. Promote transport infrastructure connectivity, policy connectivity; connect inter-regional transport routes to spread ASEAN and Chinese goods further.

Vietnam is promoting the development of roads and railways connecting with China, Laos and Cambodia. This not only contributes to the completion of the regional transport network, but also benefits Guangxi in realizing its development vision and enhancing its role as "China's gateway to ASEAN".
Third, promote high-quality investment and increase new growth drivers. It is necessary to expand investment cooperation and develop into pioneering fields and new industries such as digital economy, green economy, circular economy, clean energy; develop high-quality human resources, artificial intelligence, and make good use of the achievements and opportunities from the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.
Fourth, strengthen people-to-people exchanges and cultural and tourism cooperation, creating favorable conditions for people, especially the young generation and the business community of the countries to "get to know each other, understand each other, and become close to each other", thereby seeking and realizing mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities. Together, we will make efforts to promote tourism cooperation to recover soon and develop more strongly.

The Deputy Prime Minister believes that the success of this year's CAEXPO and CABIS will make practical contributions to economic, trade, investment and connectivity cooperation between ASEAN and China in the coming time.
With the determination and correct policies of the Government, the support and participation of the business community of all countries, as well as in the spirit of equal, open and mutually beneficial cooperation, we can certainly realize the common goal of peace, prosperity, sustainable and inclusive development, bringing practical benefits to all people.
