Speaking at an expanded meeting of the Russia-China Commission preparing for regular meetings of heads of government, Akimov stressed that commenting on the US imposition of unilateral sanctions and protectionist measures is short-sighted.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister said that the importance of Russia-China cooperation is not only for the two countries and peoples, but also for the whole world to maintain global stability and develop dialogue on a multipolar world, which was emphasized by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese President Xi Jinping at their meeting on November 5.
Mr. Akimov also noted that in the first 8 months of 2018, the bilateral trade turnover between Russia and China reached $70 billion. The Russian official emphasized: "We have every reason to hope that by the end of this year, the bilateral turnover will reach a record high of $100 billion."
Russian officials shared that there is a common understanding and desire to strengthen cooperation in high-tech industries, in the fields of civil aviation, space and processing industry./.
