Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan visits South Korea.
From August 25-28, at the invitation of the South Korean government,Member of the Politburo and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan is visiting and working in South Korea.

Joining the high-level Vietnamese Government delegation on their working visit to South Korea were the Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Dang Van Hieu; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc; Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong; Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thanh Hoa; Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Viet Thanh; and Deputy Head of the Government Office Pham Viet Muon.
During this trip, the Vietnamese delegation will focus on negotiating with the Korean government on three major topics, including: addressing the issue of Vietnamese workers whose contracts have expired but have not returned to Vietnam, and subsequently planning to resume sending Vietnamese workers to work in Korea; establishing a Vietnam Institute of Science and Technology based on the model of the Institute of Science and Technology in Korea; and the construction of a Government Electronic Data Center funded by the Korean government through ODA (Official Development Assistance) to the Vietnamese government.
