Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE.

On December 16th, during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and participation in "Vietnam Day in the UAE," Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Both sides expressed pleasure at the positive development of cooperative relations between the two countries in recent years, especially after the visit of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to the UAE (February 2009) and the visit of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to Vietnam (September 2007).

Both sides agreed to further promote multifaceted cooperation in the coming period; strengthen exchanges of delegations at all levels between the two countries, especially high-level delegations; promote cooperation in fields such as trade, investment, finance and banking, and labor cooperation; and expressed their determination to increase bilateral trade turnover in the coming years. Both sides also affirmed their commitment to continue coordinating and supporting each other in international and multilateral forums.

Highly appreciating the role and development of the UAE in recent years, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that the UAE continues to be one of Vietnam's leading partners in the Middle East region, especially in the fields of economics, trade, and investment.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the UAE Government to support and facilitate increased investment by UAE businesses in Vietnam in areas where the country has strengths (energy, hotels and tourism, finance and banking, oil and gas, etc.); to increase imports of Vietnamese consumer goods and construction materials; and to support Vietnam in building a labor training center to improve the skills of Vietnamese workers going to work in the Middle Eastern market.

Vietnam welcomes and affirms that it will create favorable conditions for businesses, banks, and investment funds from the UAE to come to Vietnam to explore the market, cooperate in business, and invest.

UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that the Government and people of the UAE always attach great importance to developing friendly cooperative relations with Vietnam.

Regarding economic and trade relations, the UAE Deputy Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for strengthening the legal framework for cooperation; he emphasized that he would direct relevant ministries and agencies of the UAE to effectively implement existing agreements and cooperation, promote multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, and support future projects in economic, financial-banking, and labor cooperation.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE stated that at the recent International Agricultural Fair in the UAE, Vietnamese businesses showcased outstanding products. UAE businesses are very keen to invest in the agricultural sector and encourage Vietnamese businesses to boost agricultural exports to the UAE.

UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan warmly welcomed the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the "Vietnam Day in UAE" activities and highly appreciated the organization of this meaningful event.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception extended by Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Government and people of the UAE to the delegation, as well as their active support in organizing "Vietnam Day in the UAE".

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc invited UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to visit Vietnam. The UAE Deputy Prime Minister thanked him and happily accepted the invitation.
