During his official visit to Cambodia at the invitation of General Ke Kim Yan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Cambodian National Committee for Drug Prevention and Control, on the afternoon of August 14, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Men Sam on.

On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Ms. Men Sam on welcomed and highly appreciated the visit and working trip to Cambodia of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Recalling important events in the bilateral relationship that have taken place recently, Ms. Men Sam on affirmed that the good traditional friendly cooperative relationship between Cambodia and Vietnam is a precious asset of the people of both countries that needs to be preserved and developed in all fields.
Cambodia and Vietnam are two neighboring countries that have shared hardships and helped each other in the struggles for national independence and in building and developing their respective nations. The Cambodian people will always remember the gratitude owed to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam for helping the Cambodian people escape the Khmer Rouge genocide and for supporting and assisting in the process of building and developing Cambodia today.
Ms. Men Sam on also informed Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc about the activities of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association during the "Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Year 2012," aiming to contribute to strengthening and promoting the traditional cooperative relationship between the people of the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia has been built with the blood and sacrifices of the people of both countries as they stood side-by-side, overcoming the difficulties and challenges of each country's history. Vietnam has always considered Cambodia a close and dear neighbor and always wishes to preserve, strengthen, and develop this relationship further for the benefit of the people of both countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated and hoped that the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association would continue to make important contributions to strengthening and developing the good relationship between the two countries.
Later that afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited and spoke with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia. Acknowledging the embassy's contributions to preserving and developing the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc instructed the embassy staff to build upon their positive achievements and continue to effectively represent and act as a diplomatic bridge, contributing to the further development of the traditional friendly cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia in all fields.
