Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue attends the opening ceremony of the 13th National Radio Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - This National Radio Festival was held in Nghe An, taking place from May 3 to May 5.

On the evening of May 3, Voice of Vietnam Radio in collaboration with Nghe An Provincial Radio and Television Station organized the opening ceremony of the 13th National Radio Festival. The ceremony took place at the Provincial Labor Culture House.

Attending the ceremony were: Vuong Dinh Hue - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen The Ky - Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, Head of the Steering Committee of the 13th National Radio Festival; Le Dinh Son - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee. Also attending were representatives of leaders of a number of central ministries, branches, and Radio and Television stations of 63 provinces and cities.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong said that Nghe An province was very pleased to be chosen as the host of this festival. “Nghe An is the press center of the North Central region with 6 local press agencies and more than 40 representative offices. Nghe An is considered one of the localities with the most developed press types in the country,” comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong said and believed that after this festival, listeners will enjoy good and attractive radio works. Especially works about the homeland and people of Nghe An.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said that after the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh directed the establishment of the Voice of Vietnam, laying the foundation for the national radio industry. Remembering the two resistance wars against France and the US with a clear advantage, the Voice of Vietnam "From a thousand miles away still whispers in people's ears - Pulling back barriers, pushing back darkness - Lighting up the burning faith in people's hearts".

According to Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, from 1975 to the present, radio has remained an important form of communication, always a close friend to all social sectors, radio waves spread everywhere. Radio has increasingly affirmed itself as an extremely important information channel on the ideological and cultural front, contributing practically to the direction work. At the same time, it is a broad, democratic, convenient forum, a confidant of the public.

The Deputy Prime Minister also highly agreed with the theme "Radio with the cause of promoting industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration" of this National Radio Festival.

“That theme affirms two things. First, those working in radio clearly see their mission and responsibility for the development of the country. Second, the radio industry itself determines to proactively seize opportunities and advantages, face and overcome all challenges in the process of international integration, with fierce competition in the field of information and communication. Especially the emergence of new communication methods,” said comrade Vuong Dinh Hue.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in today's era, radio workers need to grasp and make the most of technological advances in operations, production, broadcasting programs and interacting with the public.

It is especially important to focus on innovating content and methods of reaching listeners on both traditional radio waves and new technology platforms. To do that, journalists, editors, and managers must continuously innovate, learn, and improve their skills.

After the Deputy Prime Minister's speech, Comrade Nguyen The Ky beat the drum, officially opening the 13th National Radio Festival.

At the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh presented a flower basket to the Organizing Committee of the 13th National Radio Festival.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son presented flower baskets to the members of the jury.

This Radio Festival has the participation of all 63 provincial and municipal radio and television stations nationwide; 14 units of VOV; the People's Army Radio and Television Center, the People's Police Radio and Television and Cinema Center and the Youth and Children's Radio Department. After the preliminary round, 216 works entered the final round, including 31 ethnic language programs, 33 radio stories, 65 reports, 53 compilation programs and 34 live programs.
